Easing Arthritis with Swami Vivekananda Yoga Trust (SVYT)

At Swami Vivekananda Yoga Trust (SVYT), we are committed to helping individuals with arthritis find relief, restore mobility, and reclaim their quality of life through the healing power of yoga. Under the expert guidance of our founder, Garimilla Srinivas Reddy, we offer specialized programs that alleviate joint pain, reduce inflammation, and promote flexibility.

At SVYT, arthritis is not just a condition to endure—it’s an opportunity to embrace movement, strength, and wellness through mindful practice.

Our Approach to Arthritis

Arthritis, whether osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or another form, brings stiffness, pain, and limited movement that can disrupt daily life. Our yoga-based approach combines asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, and relaxation techniques to gently address these challenges. Designed to suit varying levels of ability, our programs improve joint health, enhance circulation, and foster a sense of ease in the body.

Why Yoga for Arthritis?

Yoga provides a gentle, effective way to manage arthritis by targeting its physical and emotional effects. Research supports its ability to reduce pain, improve joint function, and enhance overall well-being. At SVYT, our arthritis-focused sessions emphasize:

  • Increasing Mobility: Low-impact postures like Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) and Cat-Cow Stretch lubricate joints and improve range of motion.
  • Reducing Inflammation: Breathing exercises such as Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) and relaxation practices calm the body’s inflammatory response.
  • Relieving Pain: Gentle stretching and mindful movement release tension in affected areas, easing discomfort naturally.
  • Building Strength: Supported asanas strengthen muscles around joints, providing better support and stability.

Expert Care for Joint Health

Our arthritis programs are led by Srinivas Reddy, whose qualifications—M.Sc. in Yoga, Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy (PGDYT), and role as a Ministry of AYUSH YCB Examiner—reflect his deep expertise in therapeutic yoga. Since beginning his yoga journey in 2002, Srinivas has studied how tailored practices can support chronic conditions like arthritis, ensuring that every session is safe, accessible, and beneficial. His compassionate approach empowers participants to move with confidence, regardless of their limitations.
